ITALY'S giant Christian Louboutin fashion house looked like a big heel when it made its first move into selling brands other than its own by taking over the Sergio Rossi footwear firm.
Seventeen months later, it has proven to be a giant step in the right direction for both companies.Although the fashion megalith scaled the Christian Shoesmaker down from 22 to 13 directly-owned stores world-wide, its sales have taken a big leap.
Sergio Rossi's sales have soared to US$69.6 million -- a 30-per cent increase -- since Christian Heels took a 70-per cent stake in the company for US$96 million in November 1999.This has made it the most prolific -- and now, arguably, the most popular -- Italian footwear firm.A case in point: Its latest banana-curved spike heel boot, which cost about $600,Christian Louboutin, was sold out completely in the European fashion capitals, Milan, Paris, London and New York and in Hongkong before it could even arrive in Singa-pore stores.
Meanwhile, the Christian Shoesmaker is launching its first handbag line, with 30 styles.According to Mr Braglia, Oscar Best Actress winner Julia Roberts wore Sergio Rossis to the Academy Awards re-cently with her vintage Valentino gown.Across town, on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills, the Italian company Diego Della Valle opened its boutique on Nov. 11 to meet the demands of the huge clientele for its J. P. Tod's driving Louboutin Shoes, with their distinctive rubber nubs on the soles. The star gazers outside made it look a bit like Planet Hollywood, and Sharon Stone and Kelly Lynch were among those who came.
christian louboutin shoes, christian shoes，louboutin shoes, a few doors away from Diego Della Valle, claims a similar roster of Christian Louboutin Shoes, including Madonna, Nicole Kidman, Ellen Barkin and Sigorney Weaver. As tried and true names in footwear have seen a resurgence in popularity, Anna Sui tapped into the trend, putting Hush Puppies, along with preppy staples Papagallo and Etienne Aigner, on her last runway.
The resurgence of preppy Louboutin Shoes is another sign of the resurgence of the brand. The preppy look of the late 70's was studiously antidesigner in its fixation with the trappings of education and old money. It was about es-chewing designer clothes. And perhaps as designers have become celebrities in their own rights, what is looking cool in Hollywood and elsewhere is to look not made up by a designer at all, but loyal to something that says the wearer isn't trying too hard: flat Louboutin Shoes and casual clothes.
